Great light weight, fun to ride saddle. On the web it says you measure from the top of the Cantel (at t h e stitching) where the seat material are attached, to the Pommel, right above the hole. Please look at the photo and you decide. If you measure at the stitching it is a 15.5. But there is a half inch of a comfy foam seat, that comes after the stitching… This saddle is Fully operational. Comfy Seat with all the flexibility of the removable Cushion pads underneath, plus the shims to fit your horse. This Saddle has a pretty wide gullet. The length is 23 inches long. Great for short back horses. Normal wear and tear. New 1 inch Cushion pads on the bottom, paid one hundred dollars for them about 2 months ago.. Take a good look at the photos. This saddle is used, but in great working condition. This Saddle is Leather, all but the Billets and t he attachment for the stirrups. They are plastic with the web nylon under side. The Billets are plastic on the out side, and have Nylon web on the inside. They are fully functional and safe to use. With the Nylon Webbing on the inside, they are stronger then leather. They have a close contact feature which allows for free swinging room with your legs. If you do not like the cosmetic look of them, they do sell them separate at Specialized Saddle. The stirrup fenders are leather, but on the underneath side, a protective Plastic or some form of water proof covering, sewn in. This protects the fenders from sweat. The stirrup holder strap is 1.5 inches wide. The buckle for the stirrup has some rust. It is cosmetic, and completely functional. These saddles sell for around 1800.00 dollars new..
