Cashel Saddle by Martin Saddlery Texas. The Axis’Sure Fit’ saddle tree is used on this saddle, same as on the Martin Clinton Anderson, Sheryl Cervi, Matt Gaines, Ricky Green, Joe Beaver. I have had this saddle for about five years and have put on thousands of hours on the trail from New England to South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and in between. It is used but not abused, never wreaked or rolled on. Unfortunately it doesn’t fit my new horse…. It is western in design, but lacks horn. Not always a bad thing if you need to really duck a branch or if you’ve ever caught a belt or ladies a bra! Some might use it for endurance but it is about 27 lbs as is. Nice classic clean lines and a seat that puts your legs correctly under you. Cashel did not have Martin make a lot of these and are no longer available. Everyone wants a horn, even if you’re never near a steer. 16″ seat, 26″ length of skirt, 4″ Cheyenne roll cantle, 12.5″ swell fork and Q horse bars, 27 pounds. (custom stirrups) It’s for sale on Craigslist locally also. NOTE BRAIN FART of an Old Man Seat had been listed as 15…. Should have read 16 (2/6/16). Bar tips flare up and away from the horse’s shoulder to eliminate any interference of natural movement. Double stirrup leather cut out eliminates uneven pressure under the saddle and provides an even contact surface. Unlike traditional rawhide trees, the fiberglass ground seat is specifically molded to fit the rider’s needs and adds 1000 pounds of resistant strength to the tree. Bars are designed to provide full and even contact to the horse’s back. Only the finest kiln-dried hand selected lumber is sealed with a durable ageless fiberglass coating. Tree: AXIS Quarter Horse (only made in QH or Wide). Leather: Chocolate Hermann Oak. Gullet: Standard (6.5). Gullet Height: 7.5. Weight: Approx 24.5 lbs (little heavier with these stirrups).
