This is a genuine Billy Cook saddle (Model 4074) made by Billy Cook of Sulphur, OK, as opposed to the saddles being made by Simco/Longhorn in Greenville, TX, under the Billy Cook name. A sturdy saddle, weighing in at 35lbs. With full Quarter Horse bars and a 7 gullet. The suede seat is 15″ or 15 1/2″, depending on how you measure it. There is basketweave tooling on the skirt, jockey, and lower part of the fenders. Saddle also has knife/hoof pick holder. The saddle is maker stamped in at least six places. The saddle is in very good condition for its age. It shows sign of wear, but nothing that affects the performance or integrity of the saddle. The horn and tree are tight, and the fleece is in good condition. The only issue I see is some wear around the front of the horn (see last photo). Saddle comes with aluminum offset stirrups, the original rawhide wrapped roping stirrups, and flank cinch.
