JG Read & Bros Co Ogden UT 15-1/2 A Fork Ranch Roper

This saddle is in great condition and was being used when I got it… The leather is soft and supple and has no dry rot or major cracking… The tree and rigging are good and everything appears to be original (except stirrups)… The only flaws I noticed were the broken off saddle strings and the stitching on both fenders is torn at the bottom near the blevins buckle… I’d love to keep this one but hubby says it’s got to go… If you’re not happy with it I’ll be happy to take this one back.. Read learned saddlemaking beginning at the age of 17 working for Cornish & Walton in Ogden Utah during the 1870s. In 1883 he bought the firm and renamed it J. Read Harness & Saddlery.
