This is a used silver mesa training/work saddle. It is on a wide tree with full qh bars. The seat measures a generous 16 from the base of the horn to the stitching on the cantle. There are no missing or broken parts. And it is ready to ride.

It’s all rough out leather and suede seat is extremely secure to stay on the green horses or just trail riding in. Also very comfortable to ride all day. Condition : this saddle has been used a moderate amount.

There are a couple slick spots on the seat (seen in the photo) and some assorted scuffs and scratches. The right side of the jockey panel had something spilled on it at some point (see the photo). It was there when i bought it, and it didn’t take away from the using of the saddle at all. It’s a cosmetic blemish, however.

All of the stitching is good. The hardware (metal) is excellent, the sheepskin lining is tight.

This saddle has many, many more years of use to go. These are very high end, professional grade, quality built saddles.

Even a used one is better than most new ones made today. A well built saddle can sometimes cure a bunch of problems folks have with their horses. Good saddles get ridden and get some scrapes and scuffs from being used. They don’t get that way from sitting in the house. If you’re not familiar with silver mesa saddles, do a search on them.

The photos show everything very well, but if you have a question, let me know and i’ll try to answer it for you. I’ll leave the leather cinch strap on it and throw in a nylon saddle bag to keep it in.
