15- 15 1/2 Ralph Shimon Western Roping/ Ranch Saddle

With the holiday’s right around the corner we are working hard to get everyone ready. That means we will be adding new items and saddles daily. Today we are offering this Ralph Shimon ranch/ roping saddle for sale. Ralph Shimon is well known for his quality handmade saddles and use of high quality leather. These saddles were produced in Torrington, Wyoming starting in 1947. This saddle has a 15-15 1/2 inch hard seat depending on how you measure it. It is lightly tooled with the classic basket weave and floral pattern. All the strings and conchos are intact. The leather on this saddle is not dry or cracked but clean, soft and flexible. This saddle does come ready to ride as we have included both a leather tie-strap and off-billet. The stirrup leathers are pre-turned and it has nice wooden stirrups with a leather foot hold. For those of you who use breast collars it does have “D” rings. As you can see from the pictures the genuine sheepskin lining does need to be replaced as it is missing in spots. The stirrup leathers have been trimmed. We measured from the center of the seat to the last set of holes and come up with 36 inches. This should not effect most people. The horn is rubber wrapped and the pommel does not show rope burns. Overall skirt length is 24 1/2 inches and is sure to fit the shortest backed horses. Total weight of this saddle is 38 pounds.
